History of Hunza
Hunza Valley, located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, has a rich history dating back thousands of years. It was once a princely state that existed until 1974 when it was merged into Pakistan. The valley was historically a key stop on the ancient Silk Road, connecting traders from China, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. The people of Hunza are mainly of Burusho and Wakhi ethnic backgrounds, with a unique language and culture.
